HEAD TEACHER'S MESSAGE

Dear High School Learner and Parent.

St Andrew’s is big enough to offer a wide variety of opportunities but small enough to ensure that every boy counts.

The primary task of any educational institution is to pursue academic excellence, but we believe there is more to education than simply achieving a stellar set of matric results.

Since 1863 we have been producing well-rounded young gentlemen, who when they walk through our gates for a final time at the end of matric, find themselves equipped with a set of values and skills which enable them to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. We create opportunities and an environment that is conducive for boys to unlock their full potential. St Andrew’s has a proud academic tradition, with smaller classes allowing teachers to give personal attention to every boy.

At St Andrew’s we never forget our past, but we keep our eyes firmly on the future.

Outstanding Results

Among all-boys government schools, St Andrew’s is one of only four schools in the country to achieve a 100% pass rate for more than five consecutive years.

In fact, we have maintained this remarkable streak for over 30 years. For our staff, it is important that each boy – where possible – obtains a Bachelor’s Pass, enabling University and further study options.

Early intervention in the junior grades, extra classes and individual support are a given, giving each boy the best chance at success.

Year-on-year we are awarded top positions in the Free State Education Departments Well Done Function.

See below 2025 results details.
