High Performance Centre takes another big leap forward

19 August 2016 – The Lindsay Tuckett High Performance Centre at Saint Andrew’s took another exciting and big leap forward towards its completion this week when Head of Sport Kassie van Kasterop, Head of Cricket Gregg Hobson and Old Boy Andre Bothma travelled to Johannesburg to take a close look at the Pitchvision equipment which will make the indoor centre one of the finest in the country.

Saints 1st XI vs Grey 2nds – Semi-finals of the Hockey League (15 August 2016)

17 August 2016 – The Saint Andrew’s and Grey 1st XI hockey teams will contest the final of the Bloemfontein League after Saints defeated Grey 2nds 1-0 in their semi-final clash at the University Astro on Monday evening. Grey booked their place with a narrow 1-0 victory over the Grey under-16 A side.

Saints 1st XV vs Reddersburg – Final of Bloemfontein B-League (13 August 2016)

7 August 2016 – The Saint Andrew’s 1st XV will represent Bloemfontein in the Kovsie League for medium-sized schools after completing an unbeaten season in the B-League with a 36-24 victory over Landbouskool Hendrik Potgieter of Reddersburg in the final at Shimla Park on the weekend.

Senior Cricketer Achievement

Sean Whitehead recently returned from a very successful tour to Bangladesh where he represented the SA U19 team. Although the team went down 6-1 to the hosts in an ODI series, Sean was one of the standout players of the series. Owing to injury Sean only played in 5 of the 7 matches. He bowled 45 overs in the series, 7 of which were maidens, claiming 6 wickets for 124 runs. Of all the bowlers in the series (from both sides) he bowled the most maidens and had the best economy rate of 2.75. His bowling average of 20.66 was the 2nd best of the South African bowlers.
