3 April – Saturday, 1 April 2017, marked exactly a decade since Chris Thomas became Headmaster of Saint Andrew’s School. A former Head Boy, he succeeded the much-loved Roy Gordon.
19 December 2016 – After nine years at Saint Andrew’s, junior school teacher Irene Lubbe will be moving to Bainsvlei in 2017 to take up a post as Principal of Tjhabelang Primary School, which caters to children from grade 000 to grade 3.
12 December 2016 – Although Saints’ junior school teacher Mizanne Connan spent only three years at Saint Andrew’s, she made a significant impact at the school, which, in turn, made its mark on her.
9 December 2016 – As 2016 draws to a close, Saints Andrew’s says goodbye to Charles Hansen after three decades of outstanding service to the school.
23 November 2016 – Kyle Ramos began his school life at Saint Andrew’s in Grade R in 2003. Recently he was elected Head Boy for 2017, following in the footsteps of his brother, Matthew, who was Head Boy in 2015. We sat down for a chat with Kyle to find out more about him and his thoughts on Saints.
18 November 2016 – A group of boys from the Saint Andrew’s Junior Interact Society visited the Neonatal Unit at Universitas Private Hospital on Friday morning, bearing gifts for the mothers of premature babies on World Prematurity Day.
17 November 2016 – More than 150 people being cared for by Southern Free State Mental Health will enjoy a better Christmas because of the work of the Saint Andrew’s Junior Interact Society and the generosity of the Saints’ junior school boys.
14 October 2016 – A new committee took over the running of the Saints Interact Club on Thursday night at a function held at the Cricket Pavilion, with Jamie McLeod succeeding Malcolm Chigawa as President of the Club.
11 October 2016 – Saint Andrew’s Chaplain Father Deon Lombard, together with grade 10 boys Ethan Travers and Martin van Rooyen, recently spent three weeks at Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy in Lancashire as part of an exchange between the two schools.
30 August 2016 – Saint Andrew’s welcomed Martie du Plessis School for Special Needs Headmaster Francois van Heerden and pupil Charles Marais to Chapel on Thursday morning.
